Description
Musgrove Mill State Historic Site is the location of the Battle of Musgrove Mill, which happened August 19th 1780 during the Revolutionary War.
Musgrove Mill was a desirable acquisition for both sides due to its close proximity to a ford on the Enoree River and the onsite gristmill. Only the foundation and entrance steps to the original house remain standing today, but the building picture here was built in the same style as the original, and utilized some of the original beams and materials.
Also on site at Musgrove Mill Historic Site are two short, interpretive trails that chronicle the Revolutionary War history associated with the site, and the beautiful Horseshoe Falls, which serves as a local swimming hole.
Musgrove Mill State Historic Site is owned and managed by the South Carolina State Park Service.
