Kelly Hazel Image Of The Week

Tracks Across the Line is the Image of the Week.
This photograph was taken between Woodruff and Fountain Inn, South Carolina. I have always loved the symbolism in rail road tracks. These particular tracks are still in use today, though not in the same ways they were used when they were originally laid down. Today, they run though Woodruff, into the Golden Strip towns of Fountain Inn, Simpsonville, and Mauldin, then continue to several industrial plants in Greenville.
When rail tracks were first laid across the country, they represented a sprint toward the future--we were moving fast, hurrying along! Towns were growing, factories were creating, and people were traveling. Today, they are an antiquated form of transportation symbolizing more of the past than the future.
