Artist's Description

There are not a lot of heavily wooded areas on Terceira; most of the land is pasture or rough volcanic terrain where only short bushes, shuddery, and small trees can grow. That's why I love this picture.
When you are driving down this road it feels like you are in a whole other world.

This road runs through the Reserva Florestal Natural Parcial do Biscuit da Ferraria (Nature Reserve) and is part of the small network of roads that connect the Gruta do Algar do Carvao, Furnas do Enofre, and Gruta do Natal.
