Table Rock State Park is located in Pickens, South Carolina. The park spans more than 3,000 acres.
The park itself is home to many hiking trails that walk past some of the most beautiful waterfalls and landmarks in the state. The trails also connect hikers with a larger tail system which connects several parks in South Carolina, as well as to the Appalachian Trail.
This image was taken at the Table Rock State Park Headquarters, which is located across Highway 11 from the big rock. The historic Camp Oolenoy, A boys and girls camp purchased and directed by Elizabeth Ellison. The program for middle school children was ahead of its time for our nation and gained national attention.
Kelly Hazel I was born and raised in Upstate South Carolina. I've loved drawing ever since I could hold anything that would make a mark. In high school, I attended the Fine Arts Center, a magnet school for the Arts. This is where I discovered photography for the first time. I also got to try my hand with sculpture and 3-D design....no talent in that 3rd dimension for me, but I earned a deep respect and appreciation for the artists brave enough to venture into it. I also attended the South Carolina Governor’s School for the Arts at Furman University during my senior year in high school.
