Artist's Description
This photograph was created at Myrtle Beach State Park. There were dark, storm clouds hovering just above the ocean, but miles out on the horizon, the rising sun was unobstructed. The result was a brilliantly bright line of fire and the silhouette of the pier suspended between the dark clouds above, and their ominous reflections on the surface of the sea. The day that followed brought cold winds, strong currents, and bone rattling thunder. The pier stood strong, still, and stoic, without movement, through it all. It was a beautiful day in its own right, but also one that magnifies the beauty of the calm days that surround it.
