Our spiral notebooks are 6" x 8" in size and include 120 pages which are lined on both sides. The artwork is printed on the front cover which is made of thick paper stock, and the back cover is medium gray in color. The inside of the back cover includes a pocket for storing extra paper and pens.

The Fortress of S�o Jo�o Baptista (Forte de S�o Jo�o Baptista, Fort de S�o Filipe, or Fort de Monte Brasil) sits atop Monte Brasil on Terceira Island, of the A�ores (Azores) region of Portugal. Monte Brasil looks like two mountains forming a peninsula off the southern coast of Terceira, but it is actually the rim and caldera of a small volcanic offshoot from one of the four main stratovolcano that formed the island. Today, the walls of Forte de S�o Jo�o ripple all the way around the formation encompassing an area roughly 2kmsq.
In the 1500's, it was determined that the Azores were important assets. Their location made them an ideal place for ships crossing the Atlantic to stop, but the remote location also left the islands vulnerable to attack from pirates and privateers. Thus, a good defense was essential to the success of the islands.

Kelly Hazel I was born and raised in Upstate South Carolina. I've loved drawing ever since I could hold anything that would make a mark. In high school, I attended the Fine Arts Center, a magnet school for the Arts. This is where I discovered photography for the first time. I also got to try my hand with sculpture and 3-D design....no talent in that 3rd dimension for me, but I earned a deep respect and appreciation for the artists brave enough to venture into it. I also attended the South Carolina Governor’s School for the Arts at Furman University during my senior year in high school.
