Artist's Description
This image was created at the top of the Table Rock Trail and Table Rock State Park in Pickens, SC.
The Table Rock Trail is one of the most strenuous trails in the Upstate South Carolina Area, but the overlook at the top is well worth the hike!! The trail runs 3.6 miles up, then back down again for a total of 7.2 miles and an elevation change of nearly 3000 ft. The bottom portion of the trail is the most strenuous section, but it is also scattered with small streams and waterfalls. As you climb higher on the mountain, the trail wanders away from the water, but brings you to several beautiful overlook areas.
From the top of the trail, two lakes, Lake Oolenoy and the Table Rock Reservoir can be seen below.

I also got to try my hand with sculpture and 3-D design....no talent in that 3rd dimension for me, but I earned a deep respect and appreciation for the artists brave enough to venture into it. I also attended the South Carolina Governor’s School for the Arts at Furman University during my senior year in high school. This school has grown since then into a year round boarding school that focuses on the Arts. It is truly an amazing program and I count myself blessed to...
