Artist's Description
There are many different varieties of Cypress Trees. Swamp cypress trees grow in the swamps and lakes and make up an important part of the ecosystem. These cypress trees are located in Lake Eloise, just off the bank of the Cypress Garden nature walk inside Legoland Florida. Before it became Legoland, this location was home to Cypress Gardens Themepark, and when it was purchased by Merlin Entertainments, they decided to keep the cypress gardens in tact.
Today, you can stroll through the beautiful gardens and admire a wide variety of tropical plants, flowers, and trees, but also be on the lookout for alligators! There are also many large and colorful birds to captivate your interest.
About Kelly Hazel
Kelly Hazel I was born and raised in Upstate South Carolina. I've loved drawing ever since I could hold anything that would make a mark. In high school, I attended the Fine Arts Center, a magnet school for the Arts. This is where I discovered photography for the first time. I also got to try my hand with sculpture and 3-D design....no talent in that 3rd dimension for me, but I earned a deep respect and appreciation for the artists brave enough to venture into it. I also attended the South Carolina Governor’s School for the Arts at Furman University during my senior year in high school. This school has grown since then into a year round boarding school that focuses on the Arts. It is truly an amazing program and I count myself blessed to...
