Florida Southern College in Lakeland FL boasts the largest on-site collection of Frank Lloyd Wright designed buildings in the world, which Wright affectionately named his “Child of the Son” campus. The campus was designated as a National Historic Landmark in 2012.
Wright first partnered with Florida Southern College in 1938. He designed 18 structures to complete is vision of the “college of tomorrow.” Unfortunately, as of 1958, only 12 of the structures were completed. In 2013, the Usonian became the 13th Wright structure to be built at FSC. The Usonian house was built according to Wrights original plans from 1930 and is currently the only location where this plan has ever been built.

Kelly Hazel I was born and raised in Upstate South Carolina. I've loved drawing ever since I could hold anything that would make a mark. In high school, I attended the Fine Arts Center, a magnet school for the Arts. This is where I discovered photography for the first time. I also got to try my hand with sculpture and 3-D design....no talent in that 3rd dimension for me, but I earned a deep respect and appreciation for the artists brave enough to venture into it. I also attended the South Carolina Governors School for the Arts at Furman University during my senior year in high school.
