Description
This photograph looks out over the Nantahala river from an open air car on the Great Smokey Mountain Railroad as we passed beneath the bridges. I love the symmetry and geometric lines created by the two parallel bridges and all of the parallel lines that make them up. The straight, angular lines of the bridges provide a beautiful contrast with the flowing natural lines and curves of the water and surrounding forests. I chose to create this image in Black and White to focus the viewers' attention on the contrasting lines and styles between the man made structure and nature. The work beautifully together in this instance, which is not always the case.
